Bias fusible tape
A 1 cm wide adhesive tape cut on the bias, used to reinforce curved edges like the neckline. A 1 cm wide adhesive tape cut on the bias, used to stabilize delicate edges like necklines and armholes. (merged) Aliases: fusible bias tape. A narrow strip of adhesive interfacing cut on the bias, used to stabilize curved edges like necklines without restricting stretch. (merged) Aliases: fusible bias tape, bias fusible seam tape. A narrow adhesive tape with bias stitching, used to stabilize curved or bias-cut edges like necklines. (merged) Aliases: fusible bias tape, bias fusible seam tape, bias-stitched fusible stay tape. A narrow adhesive tape cut on the bias, used to stabilize curved edges like necklines without restricting all movement. (merged) Aliases: fusible bias tape, bias fusible seam tape, bias-stitched fusible stay tape, fusible stay tape (bias-cut).
Where it is used
Pressing the Neckline
p. 4- Stitch the bias tape in place from the right side of the dress, keeping the seam 0.7 cm from the edge. Remove basting stitches and press.

Stay Tape Application
p. 1- Fuse the stay tape to the front neckline’s bias edge from the wrong side.

Applying Neckline Tape
p. 2- Apply the bias fusible tape along the neckline edges.

Apply Bias Fusible Tape
p. 3- Apply the bias fusible tape along the neckline edges. Use a 10 mm wide tape and position it 2–3 mm away from the edge so the tape's border will be caught in the stitching.

Stay Tape Application
p. 1- Fuse the stay tape to the front neckline's bias edge from the wrong side.

Apply bias-cut fusible stay tape to the neckline
p. 2- Apply bias-cut fusible stay tape to the neckline seam allowances on the wrong side of the front and back pieces. Position the tape so its main thread runs 1 cm from the raw edge. The needle should stitch right along this thread. Don't stretch the edges. After fusing, compare the seam lengths to those on the paper pattern—they should match exactly.

Reinforce Neckline Edges
p. 1- Use a bias-stitched fusible stay tape to reinforce the neckline edges on the front and back pieces. Fuse the tape to the wrong side so the stitching line on the tape sits exactly 1 cm from the raw edge.

Fusing Edges
p. 5- Fuse the neckline and armhole edges on the back and front pieces with bias grain non-woven fusible tape on the wrong side. Apply the tape 1.5 cm wide, starting 2-3 mm from the raw edge. The machine stitching line must land exactly on the main thread (grainline) of the tape. After fusing, compare the length of the edges with the paper pattern—they must match. Fuse the center back seam and the center back seam of the trousers pieces with straight grain non-woven fusible tape under the zipper attachment.

Reinforce Neckline Edges
p. 1- Use a bias-stitched fusible stay tape to reinforce the neckline edges on the front and back pieces. Fuse the tape to the wrong side so the stitching line on the tape sits exactly 1 cm from the raw edge.

Shoulder Seams
p. 1- Reinforce the shoulder seams of the front piece with bias-cut fusible stay tape. Stitch the shoulder seams from the front piece side. Press the seam allowances toward the back.

Reinforce armholes
p. 7- On the wrong side, reinforce the armhole edges with bias fusible tape. Beforehand, make a few small snips along the tape where it curves (at the side panel area).

Armhole Reinforcement
p. 7- On the wrong side, reinforce the armhole edges with bias fusible tape. Beforehand, make a few small snips along the tape where it curves (at the side panel area).
