Armhole binding finish
A method of finishing armholes by wrapping them with a binding strip, topstitching, and pressing.
Where it is used
Pinning Armhole Binding
p. 7- Pin the armhole binding to the armhole edge, aligning the right sides together.

Stitching Armhole Binding
p. 7- Stitch the armhole binding to the armhole edge, using a 0.7 cm seam allowance.

Pressing Armhole Binding Seam
p. 7- Press the seam allowance of the armhole binding toward the binding.

Topstitching Armhole Binding
p. 8- Topstitch the armhole binding seam from the binding side, keeping the stitching 0.1 cm from the edge.

Decorative Topstitching
p. 9- Sew a decorative topstitch along the armhole at 0.7 cm, securing the pressed edge of the binding.

Pressing Armhole
p. 9- Press the armhole with an iron. * For garments made with heavier fabrics, you can skip binding the armholes. Instead, press the seam allowances toward the inside and secure them with flatlock stitching.
