Armhole binding finish
A method of finishing armholes by wrapping them with a binding strip, topstitching, and pressing.
Where it is used
7. Armhole Finishing: Step 7.1
p. 8- Pin the armhole edges of the lining to the armhole edges of the front and back, matching raw edges, notches, and seams, with right sides together.
7. Armhole Finishing: Step 7.6
p. 9- Press the finished armhole, creating a 0.1 cm roll from the front and back pieces.
7. Armhole Finishing: Step 7.5
p. 9- Topstitch the armhole facing seam 0.1 cm from the lining side in two steps: Do this separately on the armhole section of the front and the back.

p. 9- Clip the seam allowances around the armhole curves.
10.5. Pressing Armhole Binding
p. 8- Press the seam allowance of the armhole binding toward the binding.
10.3. Pinning Armhole Binding
p. 8- Pin the armhole binding to the armhole edge, aligning the right sides together.
10.4. Stitching Armhole Binding
p. 8- Stitch the armhole binding to the armhole edge, using a 0.7 cm seam allowance.
10.6. Topstitching Armhole Binding
p. 9- Topstitch the armhole binding seam from the binding side, keeping the stitching 0.1 cm from the edge.
10.9. Decorative Topstitching
p. 10- Sew a decorative topstitch along the armhole at 0.7 cm, securing the pressed edge of the binding.
Armhole Treatment - Front Panel
p. 17- Align the lining along the armholes and the bottom of the bodice. Trace the outline of the armholes and side seams onto the lining, then trim any excess allowance, leaving a 0.3 cm margin. Pin the armhole edges of the bodice front to the edges of the bodice lining, starting at the shoulder seam, and stitch the armhole of the front panel with lining using a 0.7 cm allowance.
Pin Armhole Binding
p. 3- Place the armhole binding piece right sides together with the blouse bodice, matching along the armhole edge and aligning all notches. Pin in place.
Stitch Armhole Binding
p. 3- Stitch the binding on the sewing machine using a 1.0 cm seam allowance.
