Lengthwise fusible tape
A narrow strip of fusible interfacing used to stabilize seam allowances, preventing stretching along zipper openings.
Where it is used
Interfacing and Edge Reinforcement
p. 1- Completely interface the front and back waistband pieces. Apply bias fusible seam tape to the wrong side of the neckline edges for the front and back bodice pieces. Reinforce the left side seams where the zipper goes on the left front bodice, front skirt, and back skirt with straight-grain fusible tape.

Verifying Seam Lengths
p. 1- After fusing, compare the seam lengths on the fabric pieces with the seam lengths on the paper pattern to ensure they match perfectly.

Apply fusible stay tape to the center back edges
p. 2- Use fusible stay tape along the seam allowances of the center back edges on the wrong side to prepare for the zipper. Position the 1 cm wide tape 3 mm from the edge, so the sewing machine needle will stitch right along the tape. The fusible tape should extend 1–2cm past the zipper marking.

Preparing the Back Piece - Interfacing Center Back
p. 6- Fuse the seam allowances of the center back seam using a 1.2 cm wide fusible tape, starting from the top edge and extending 1 cm past the zipper tape notch.
