  1. Fold the sleeve with the right sides together, aligning the top edges, and pin in place. Stitch the upper edges of the sleeve with an overlock machine along the elbow side, removing the pins as you go. Important! At the end of the seam, leave a thread chain and tuck it into the seam using a hook.

  1. Place the front piece and the sleeve right sides together, aligning the armhole edge with the sleeve cap edge, and secure them with pins. Using an overlocker, sew the sleeve into the front armhole along the front piece, removing each pin as you go.

  1. Press the seam allowance of the upper sleeve seam toward the front of the sleeve. At the top of the seam, gently steam out any excess fabric.

  1. Mark a section on the sleeve seam and sew a reinforcing stitch along it. Remember to backstitch at the beginning and end.

  1. Place the front piece and the sleeve right sides together, align the sleeve seam with the armhole, match the edges, pin in place, and sew along the front piece edge with an overlock machine. Press and then fold the seam allowance toward the sleeve.
