Left side slit reinforcement
The technique of reinforcing the left side slit opening using a fabric reinforcement strip to prevent tearing.
Where it is used
Left Side Slit - Reinforcement Upper Edge
p. 10- Finish the upper edge of the reinforcement.
Left Side Slit - Reinforcement First Side
p. 10- Sew the lower edge of the reinforcement to one side of the opening, pressing the seam allowance away from the garment.
Left Side Slit - Reinforcement Second Side
p. 10- Attach the reinforcement to the other side of the seam allowance, again pressing the allowance away from the garment.
Left Side Slit - Pressing Reinforcement
p. 11- Press the reinforcement, folding most of it upward, while keeping the seam allowance tucked inside.
Left Side Slit - Stitching Reinforcement
p. 11- Stitch the edges of the reinforcement to the edges of the seam allowance. Trim off any excess reinforcement allowance.
