Casing topstitch
Stitching a parallel line 2.2 cm from the bottom edge to create a channel for the elastic.
Where it is used
Marking the casing line
p. 7- MARK THE CASING TOPSTITCH LINE ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE TOP, SETTING IT 2.2 CM IN FROM THE EDGE.

Topstitching the casing
p. 7- TOPSTITCH ALONG THE MARKED CASING LINE, LEAVING A 2.0 CM OPENING AT THE SIDE SEAM AREA.

Threading the bottom elastic
p. 7- CUT A 2.0 CM-WIDE ELASTIC TO THE REQUIRED LENGTH. THE RECOMMENDED ELASTIC LENGTH IS INDICATED ON THE FRONT PATTERN PIECE. THREAD THE ELASTIC INTO THE CASING THROUGH THE OPENING LEFT.

Closing the casing opening
p. 8- Stitch closed the opening left in the casing’s side seam section.

Cutting the closure opening
p. 6- Cut along the marked line on the front piece, stopping 1.5 cm before the guide mark.
